Escorta lists Palermo escorts on one city page, with no separate pages for Palermo escorts by area. You agree the meeting area with each profile, ideally before you book a hotel.
In central Palermo, the practical choice is between two areas. Politeama and Via Libertà form the modern centre, with wide streets, shops and offices. The historic centre around Quattro Canti is older, denser and partly closed to traffic.
Check whether a profile lists Incall, Outcall or both before you choose where to stay.
Politeama and Via Libertà: The Modern Centre
Piazza Politeama is the everyday name for two joined squares, Piazza Ruggero Settimo and Piazza Castelnuovo. The Teatro Politeama Garibaldi stands on the square. From here, Via Libertà runs north to Piazza Vittorio Veneto.
To the south, Via Ruggero Settimo links Politeama with Teatro Massimo.
Via Libertà sits outside the ZTL, the limited traffic zone described below. On Sundays and public holidays, from 08:00 to 20:00, the Comune closes the central carriageway south of Piazza Crispi to all vehicles except bicycles. The side lanes stay open, and the Comune sometimes suspends the closure. Via Ruggero Settimo and part of Piazza Castelnuovo are pedestrian areas, where cars need a permit. If your hotel is on one of them, check car and taxi access when you book. The airport shuttle bus stops at Politeama and at several points along Via Libertà. Teatro Massimo is about five minutes' walk from Piazza Ruggero Settimo.
Politeama and Via Libertà suit a work trip or a short stay where easy logistics matter most. If a profile lists Outcall, a hotel here gives a clear address that is easy to reach.
The Historic Centre: Quattro Canti, Kalsa, Vucciria and Ballarò
Quattro Canti is the crossing of Via Maqueda and Via Vittorio Emanuele, the street locals call the Cassaro. The crossing divides the old city into four historic quarters: Kalsa, Albergheria, Capo and Loggia. Quattro Canti is about ten minutes' walk from Teatro Massimo.
-
Kalsa extends to the Foro Italico, the seafront promenade. Its museums include Palazzo Abatellis.
-
Vucciria is the old market around Piazza Caracciolo and Piazza Garraffello. Its bars stay busy late into the night.
-
Ballarò, in Albergheria, is the oldest and largest market in the city. It runs from Piazza Casa Professa to Corso Tukory. It is a daytime market, open Monday to Saturday from 07:30 to 20:00.
Staying in the old centre puts you close to the Cathedral, the markets and the seafront. It also needs more planning. Via Maqueda is closed to general traffic along most of its length, from Via Cavour through Quattro Canti towards the station. Many side streets are narrow. Before you book, check how close a car can get to the entrance and when the reception is staffed.
The old centre suits a longer stay, or a stay where you prefer to walk in the evening.
Palermo Centrale and Falcone Borsellino Airport
Falcone Borsellino airport is at Punta Raisi, about 35 km west of Palermo.
-
Train. Trains run to Notarbartolo and Palermo Centrale, usually twice an hour. The journey to Notarbartolo takes just over 30 minutes. The station is about 1 km west of Via Libertà.
-
Shuttle bus. The bus runs every 30 minutes. It reaches Via Libertà in about 30 minutes and Politeama in 35 to 40, then continues to Via Roma and the central station.
Palermo Centrale is on Piazza Giulio Cesare, at the southern edge of the historic centre. Via Maqueda runs from the station area, through Quattro Canti, to Teatro Massimo. From the station, the old centre is a short walk. Politeama is about 2 km away, roughly 25 minutes on foot, or a short taxi ride.
If you fly in and stay near Via Libertà, the shuttle bus is the most direct option.
Late Journeys, the ZTL and the Festino
Most of the historic centre sits inside the Comune di Palermo's ZTL, a limited traffic zone. It covers the area from Piazza Giulio Cesare to Via Cavour, and from Porta Nuova to Porta Felice. The daytime zone applies Monday to Friday, from 08:00 to 20:00. A night zone applies on Friday and Saturday nights. It runs from 20:00 to 06:00 between May and October, and from 23:00 to 06:00 between November and April. Under the Comune's rules, electronic gates check entry, and a car without a permit is liable to a fine.
For a late journey between the two areas, use a taxi. There is a taxi rank in Piazza Verdi, beside Teatro Massimo.
Plan around the Festino di Santa Rosalia in mid-July. On the evening of 14 July, the saint's float, the Carro Trionfale, moves along the Cassaro to Porta Felice. The night ends with fireworks over the sea. On 15 July, a religious procession crosses the historic centre. Expect large crowds on both days, and allow extra time for any journey across the centre.
